While a member of the Special Care Dentistry Association and the American Society of Geriatric Dentistry, he completed over 150 hours of continuing education in geriatric dentistry.

The practice of dentistry has seen many changes in the past twenty years, due in large part to technology. Dr. Mika has invested in his practice by bringing this technology to his patients. Not only is his practice run by dental practice management software, but digital radiography, digital photography, soft tissue laser surgery, laser caries detection and CAD/CAM dental restorations are practiced daily.
Dr. Mika is a member of the American Dental Association, the Ohio Dental Association, Corydon Palmer Dental Society and is a Fellow in the Academy of General Dentistry. He has achieved Standard Proficiency Certification from the Academy of Laser Dentistry. Dr. Mika also participates in the Dental Options program which provides discounted and donated dental services to qualified individuals in Ohio.
Dr. Mika is married with two sons and a daughter and has been blessed with two grand children. Besides spending time with his family, he enjoys music and is an avid drummer. He is a diehard fan of The Ohio State Buckeyes and also enjoys hiking, bicycling, fishing and hunting.
Fellows of the Academy of General Dentistry
A general dentist who is a "Fellow" in the Academy of General Dentistry (FAGD) has been recognized by other general dentists as a leader and example to other dentists of the importance of quality continuing dental education to patient care. The Fellowship designation is one of the most rigorous continuing dental education programs today. It is also one of the most prestigious awards in dentistry and is only achieved by about 6% of dentists in the U.S. and Canada. To earn a Fellowship Award, a dentist must earn a minimum of 500 approved continuing dental education credits and pass a comprehensive 252-question examination covering all 17 disciplines in dentistry, equal in difficulty to board certification exams. Since being a Fellow is optional, dentists who have earned this distinction have demonstrated a higher level of commitment to their profession and have shown that they are individuals who strive for excellence in every facet of their professional lives. Fellows of the AGD follow a lifelong pursuit of continuing education to provide the highest quality of dental care to patients.
